A lot like other years, since our family grew, New Years Eve plans have changed a bit. We’re not drinking and partying until 5 in the morning (not that I ever really did that). This year we’re thinking of taking the kids up to the hill, cooking hotdogs at the bottom of mighty moose, do some night skiing and sledding, watching the fireworks at 9 and then head home to put the kids to bed. How times have changed! I’m kind of looking forward to it, though. An easy and fun time with the kids and a nice quiet evening with Robo. Let’s see if this pans out the way I think or perhaps my husband will be out partying like it’s 2008, not unlikely, and I’ll have a nice quiet evening with my TV. I’ve started watching Letterkenny, a show set in a small Ontario town, which I didn’t think would grab me the way it is and that’s all I want to watch now. Bringing in the new year with Wayne, Daryl and Dan!
From the Facebook event page:
“Dickens’ Christmas Party: Saturday, Dec 22nd, 2:00-4:00 pm
Join us for cider, stories, treats, and activities for all ages. This annual library event is a wonderful chance to connect with your neighbours. The afternoon concludes with a rousing community Christmas carol led by local community musicians. All are welcome.”
I’m a big believer in the Fernie Heritage Library and their programs but this is, honestly, one I try to avoid because it’s so popular. I’m not a fan of so many people in tight spaces. But I do know it’s a good time and hosted by amazing people.
