Have you ever considered being an entrepreneur but have hesitated about taking the next steps? This session will provide you with all of the critical considerations before making the leap.

Find out about:
• different company structures like co-ops, for profits, incorporated, proprietorship etc.;
• • personality and lifestyle – do you have what it takes?;
• steps to launch a plan;
• support organizations, funding… and much more.

This 2 hour intensive program will walk you through all the critical consideration and link you to more resources in each topic area if you need more information.

Arts and Cultural Grants Information

Arts and Culture Grants through The Arts Station

The Fernie and District Arts Council, based in The Arts Station, administers grants for local artists and arts groups and provides support to people throughout the application and delivery process.

Grants are available to people interested in:
• Arts Funding to Communities (Fund individual and group arts projects within a community)
• Mentoring and Master Classes (Assists community or arts groups to provide artistic or cultural mentoring or master classes to emerging professionals)
• Artists in the Classroom (ArtStarts in Schools offers Artists in the Classroom (AIC) grants to help schools bring professional artists into their classrooms.)

Lantern Craft & Caroling by Candlelight

Friday 22nd December

Join us at the Arts Station from 3 – 5pm for family lantern crafting session.

  • @ the Arts Station Theatre
  • Totally free, all materials provided, just drop in
  • Lead by Rachel Butterworth
  • Lanterns can be taken home afterwards
  • Suitable for ages 3+, families must stay with their children.

Then, get the whole family and join us on the deck to hold your lanterns and sing songs with Rachel.

  • 5.30pm on the deck @ the Arts Station
  • Rachel to lead the signing with a crew of singers and music! Traditional and modern holidays songs.
  • All ages welcome
  • Free hot chocolates! Generously donated by Starbucks Fernie.
