“Kootenay-East MLA Tom Shypitka claims that a full replacement for Fernie’s elementary school should be coming in just a couple of years.
Shypitka wrote in a Facebook post that he spoke to Education Minister Rob Fleming in the B.C. Legislature this week about schooling in the East Kootenay….” Read more here.
This is huge news for Fernie. A new school for École Isabella Dicken Elementary School is long over due, with our booming and vibrant community. There are so many portables out back and kindergarten classes don’t seem to be getting smaller.
Big announcement for Fernie! We are getting the latest Pokémon movie this May 10th at the Vogue Theatre. My husband was willing to travel with my kids to another city if Fernie didn’t get it right away. They’re that excited.

It’s The Arts Station Membership time of year! The Arts Station helps to bring Wednesday Socials in the summer, dumpster art evenings, live music in the winter, new art in the gallery every month, theatre, workshops for all ages and is the home to various art guilds.
