Last year Wapiti launch it’s first Art Expo, a display of about 20 original paintings, and they’re doing it again this year! I am participating in the Art Expo, as well as another Wonder Walk (last year I did Shy Girl) called The Traveller. Next I’ll be on stage painting live. Kidding. I kid. Ew.
Art Expo 2016 was widely praised and appreciated and that’s awesome. I’m looking forward to seeing all the new work in Annex Park!
Scenic Route To Alaska is on the lineup for Wapiti Music Festival. Let’s discover their music together! I prefer to know a band or at least recognize a band when I see them play live. Getting excited!
For the rest of the 2017 Wednesday Concert series here’s the poster:
The 88 Keys Grand Piano Society of Fernie presents this concert featuring award-winning pianist and composer Jesse Plessis, a native of Sparwood British Columbia.
Jesse is working towards recording and performing all 32 piano sonatas of Ludwig van Beethoven in the year 2020 (the 250th birth year of the composer), and this concert will feature the latest addition to his repertoire – the fearsome and tragic “Appassionata” Sonata, written shortly after the composer received news of the incurability of his impending deafness. Also on the program are the Six Piano Pieces Op. 118 by Johannes Brahms – touching musings on love, loss, and life by a composer in his autumnal years. Rounding out the concert are two of Arvo Pärt’s most beloved meditations: “For Alina” and “Mirror in Mirror.”
The concert starts at 7:00 p.m. at Mountainside Community Church, 1622 Tenth Avenue. Tickets are available at the door: $20 adults, $18 seniors (65+) and youth (13 to 18).
Wednesday, June 28 at 7 PM – 9 PM at Mountainside Community Church
