Smokehouse just opened June 1st and it will continue to do so 5pm to 10pm daily. Check out their website for their menu and here’s a little bit about them from their website:
“Established local chefs Keith Ilavsky and James McDonald are launching Fernie’s latest restaurant and a menu of mouth-watering new dishes. Located at the Red Tree Lodge, just off the highway, Smokehouse specialises in Cajun-inspired slow-cooked smoked dishes, there are options for carnivores and vegetarians alike.”
Becca Musso started Lemon Belly in order to provide women with an alternative to unimpressive plastics menstrual products and she has been sewing up a storm! With new products and patterns and styles coming out daily, she has sure found herself an amazing niche and the women want it.

Knitting and Beyond
Knitting and Beyond first came to my attention at Vitality Body & Mind. A basket of bright coloured knitted products was sitting there by the front door and I had to have a closer look. Knitting and Beyond makes a few different products, including: Long socks, short socks, toeless heelless socks, flip flop socks and bags to carry your yoga mat or foam roller.

Kettle Black Bartending
KBB is located in Fernie but they’re interested in serving Elk Valley and the surrounding area. I discovered their business while browsing the ourfernie classifieds and the logo really stood out to me…and they sound like a fun company. Check out their facebook page if you’re hosting an event in the area and need someone to take care of the bar.
Secret Businesses aren’t very secret, they’re just new to me and I’m passing on the information like a good blogger.
