From City of Fernie’s website:
“Residents are invited to attend a FREE COMMUNITY BBQ and FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENT on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Noon at Rotary Park, Highway 3 Fernie. All Fernie, West Fernie and area residents are invited to attend this important announcement!”
You should follow the link and see the teaser (PDF) the city made. It’s BIG!
A super fun kid’s afternoon featuring an around the town scavenger hunt using the Fernie bike park and dike trails. Geared to riders under the age of 12. (training wheels are not appropriate, run bikes and tag along bikes are okay).
Bike & Gear Swap

Rod and I found out recently the only place where you can refill your propane tank is with the two nice men at Fernie Rentals (6 Manitou Rd, beside Day Auto. I think.) The scoop is: the local gas stations were having a hard time keeping their employees trained and certified in mandatory and costly propane school because of short term employment in the area and so they’ve all turned to the propane tank swap-the-old-for-a-new-one program. No certificate required there. Fernie Rentals, on the other hand, doesn’t have the same issue with employee turnover.
In conclusion, the only place (that we could find) in Fernie where you can refill your propane tank is at Fernie Rentals.
In summation, Happy BBQing!
