I’ve had my iPhone 4S since my daughter was 6 months old. She’s almost 7! I’ve mentioned this cellphone a few times along the way but today, perhaps, it might have dinged it’s last ding. It might have taken its last photo of my children. It might have overheated in my truck dashboard for the last time. The poor thing. I’ve taken this phone for a long ride and it’s now a dark black screen of nothing. Phones cannot swim. They die. Lesson relearned.
It’s in rice right now but I’m already researching what phone I’m going to get next and it’s going to be AMAZING compared to the old grandpa phone I was using. Look at me, I’ve moved on so quickly.
So obviously I want a new iPhone can but can you recommend something better?
Just wanted to show this off! This custom mobile is amazing and I’m proud to call Michelle my partner. Michelle created this mobile and needle felted all of these pieces for a local family. She even made the dog look exactly like the family’s Australian Kelpie. Crazy stuff.

A few years ago someone approached me about starting a program for youth in Fernie, I think it involved the arts, and I hadn’t really thought much at the time about the lack of activities for kids aged 12-18. But I’m impressed that now there is something available – something social, supportive, positive and creates wonderful opportunities. Fernie’s so great. There are also many amazing programs through the Fernie Heritage Library, but that’s another story.
Fernie Youth Action Network plans events and the next one up is Movies & Games night on November 25th at Vogue Theatre.
So if you’re new in town and you have kids 12-16 years old, it’s a free event and it involves a movie, arcade and pizza!
Speaking of Vogue, this is what’s playing right now…
