The Fernie Christmas Craft Fair was bustling with shoppers and crafters. It was nice to see so many handmade items at so many of the tables…and many of them Made In Fernie! I scored big time at the Fernie Craft Fair – Sophie’s Choice Relish, Pure Apple Cider from Creston, Cupcakes from the Angela Morgan girls, Kerri Holmes pottery mug and Elk Valley Apiaries honey! When I could have taken the opportunity to buy presents for others, I chose to buy for Rod and I…I need another craft fair.

The tables have been booked for weeks now for the Fernie Christmas Community Craft Fair 2010. This Saturday, November 20th from 10 am to 4 pm at the Fernie Community Centre. Don’t miss out on all the amazing handmade items, gift ideas and great deals. All I know is, I’m in the need of another pair of mittens!

Also, there will be a Gift Wrapping Booth for extra convenience and to raise money for the local Salvation Army.

Fernie Craft Fair 2009

Fernie Craft Fair
While playing in the snow on Saturday I had a fairly strong craving for rice crispy squares so I got in the truck to go to the grocery store and THEN i realized the Fernie Craft Fair was open for business…and there is no way I wouldn’t be able to find a vendor with baked goods. I was not let down.

With a table full of cool pins, illustrated cards and other original goods was my friend Keya White…I may have mentioned her before…and I must say, I was quite impressed with her work on display. The best part was you could make your own custom pin on the spot. Jennifer, from The Free Press, was in the process of creating her own when I arrived. Great idea, Keya!

There were so many other great vendors there, including a lovely couple from Fernie selling handmade quilts and decorative blankets. Just because they were so lovely, I took a few pictures of a few of their gift items. I wish I got their names, but they told me they only sell their stuff once a year at the Christmas craft fairs in the Elk Valley (they’ll be at Elko Craft Fair on December 5th.) Celebrating You had a table FULL of fancy gift baskets. Celebrating You not only creates gift baskets but also designs custom cakes and supplies wedding rentals (I’ll figure out exactly what wedding rentals in the near future).

In conclusion, I loved my rice crispy squares!
