Hosted by Tunnel Theatre, join us for an evening of mystery and intrigue. When an art show throws up an array of suspects, we need your help to find the culprit…
Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres generously donated by the Blue Toque.
Proceeds from the evening will contribute to our Arts Station Accessibility fund.

From The Arts Station:
This December, we want to fill our gallery with beautiful and diverse wreaths, designed and made by local artists.
To submit a design, please send us a sketch of your planned wreath together with the application form, downloadable below. Submissions should emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or brought to the Arts Station.
The deadline for entries is October 23rd.
Chosen artists will be contacted on October 30th and will have until Tuesday 28th November to create their design.
The show will then open on November 30th @ 7pm.
Submissions will be adjudicated by the Gallery Committee. Wreath designs will be selected by their originality, artistic merit and ability to be achieved.
The Arts Station will provide wreaths to decorate, or you can use your own wreath structure.
Wreaths can be made from any materials, but must be no bigger than 60 cms x 60 cms, or 2 ft x 2 ft.
Local businesses and community groups are also very welcome to submit.
The wreaths will be sold via silent auction throughout December and the proceeds will contribute to the Arts Station Youth Bursary.
There will also be a People’s Choice award for the favourite wreath. Prize to be announced.

The Fernie Lantern Festival is just 2 days away. Aahhee yaaaaeee! Our lantern Community Builds are done and there are so many lanterns in the works. It’s going to be an incredible sight! But I just wanted any of my readers to know, if you didn’t get a chance to make your own lanterns, Hospice artists/volunteers created some that are going to be available for $10 at the Arts Station (Nov 19) from 6pm – all proceeds to Hospice. Support a great local cause and join the event at 6:30! They sold out last time so get there early.
While we’re talking about fundraising, Bright Beginnings Community Preschool will be set up at the Aquatic Centre grounds with snacks to eat. Don’t forget to bring some change!
And, of course, there will be free hot chocolate – thanks, Starbucks!
The Fernie Seniors Centre is also looking for anyone wanting to donate non-perishable goods to their Grocery Hamper, which is raffled off at the Fall Tea. Drop off at the Seniors Centre at 562 3rd Ave.

ALL PROCEDES SUPPORT MEDICAL AND DENTAL EXPENSES FOR MICHELLE (Mitchell)
For more information on Michelle, check out her GoFundMe page. They’re hoping to raise money for Michelle’s dental work and traveling funds.
I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to be faced with such hardships. My heart feels heavy for the Mitchell family…I gotta say, though, they sound like a strong, amazing family that would do anything for her.
Before the days of the Community Garage Sale in May, Fernie was buzzing with garage sales every weekend and now I barely hear of any. Is it just me or are there not very many garage sales this summer?
Has the community garage sale ruined summer yard sales?
This could be all in my head because I just found this on ourfernie.com…but that’s just one.
