I was just going through my photo albums and came across the week in July when my in laws came to visit us in Fernie. It was a fun filled week with plans almost every day. For the most part, trips became spontaneous and we did what we felt like but a few things were planned a head of time.
• Alpine Enthusiasts – Horseback Riding, 2 hour trip. Booking in advance is encouraged.
• Island Lake Lodge – Brunch was served on their patio all summer. Delicious food and amazing views.
• Ancient Cottonwood Trail – Located just south of Fernie at Morrissey Bridge. It’s free to walk the loop and admire the 400 year old cottonwood trees.
• Old Growth Cedar Trail – Part of the Island Lake Trails, a 45 minute to 1 hour hike up to Island Lake Lodge. Fairly easy trail with a cold and refreshing reward at the end.
