Art On Fire – 1st Week Of Lantern Making Over

Art on Fire - Lantern Making Workshops - Drop In
The first week of drop-in Art On Fire Lantern Making Workshops is over and without Lesley, it would have gone horribly wrong. Instead, each night just got busier, bolder and more creative. All sorts of ideas are being thrown around and experimented with. I’m learning that Lesley is the “Fire” in Art On Fire. She’s so hot right now.

Art on Fire - Lantern Making Workshops - Drop In
Just do and don’t think about it. That was the general feeling of the last lantern making drop-in night. Some people had a plan and some didn’t but sometimes the unplanned become something wonderful.

Art on Fire - Lantern Making Workshops - Drop In
Big ideas are in the works, along with brilliant smaller ones. Little did we know how much work went into lanterns. It’s a good thing we have a couple weeks to finish them off or we would have a lot of unfinished lanterns displayed around town and that’s not cool.

New BFFs were found…just when you least expected it.

Art on Fire - Lantern Making Workshops - Drop In
There’s a lot to think about when creating a lantern…how is it going to be lit up, where is the light going to be, how is it going to be dressed, do you add paint, will this explode…you know, important questions like that. That’s why we’re all together at the Arts Station because someone out of the group will know what to do.

Art on Fire - Lantern Making Workshops - Drop In
Good thing Stella and Dot set up their jewelery night in the room next to us because the workshop got extra exposure. Maybe next week it will get even busier and we’ll all fight over the bamboo rods. Fun!

Art on Fire - Lantern Making Workshops - Drop In
This week you can show up at The Arts Station any night of the week from 6-9 to create your own lantern experiment. You won’t miss us, we’ll be the ones in the theater covered in glue and tissue paper.
