I didn’t know until recently that The Livery Restaurant and Cincott Organic Market are closed! One day I think I know what’s happening in my town and then WHAM, I hear the Livery has been closed since the end of May. What?! I hear Chef Barrie is now at Nevados and doing some special event catering – I’m not worried about her.
But, business opportunities are abundant in Fernie these days, the Livery Restaurant website says:
“Dear friends & customers, starting Sunday, May 17th we will be CLOSED for business. Become an Owner/Operator of this restaurant by contacting email@example.com. Thank YOU for all the fun and support and great food we have all enjoyed!!”
As for Cincott Organic Market, i found a message on their facebook page dated July 14:
“Scott and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers for your support and patronage over the last six years…unfortunately the market portion of our business is now officially closed. We have decided against having a closing out sale as we still use 95% of those products in our steakhouse. Although we are somewhat sad… It will now be transformed into a banquet area to accommodate the large party’s and functions that we cater to at night…and something a little different for lunchtime. Watch for our new launch coming this fall!

Every restaurant in Fernie does off season their own way – some take vacations, some cut hours, others keep going like it’s 1999. These are the restaurants I’ve noted making changes:
1. The Blue Toque Diner will be closed from April 13 until April 30. They will be back with a new menu and patio ready on May 1 at 9 am. Just a short one!
2. Rusty Edge is closed but will be back in May/June with a fresh new patio menu. See you in May/June, Rusty Edge
3. The Livery Restaurant is still open but closed on Sunday evenings starting April 19th. We will still be open for Sunday brunch, and our pasta night will be Tuesdays.
4. Island Lake Lodge will be open again June 12th.
